I was wondering if Sat Night Live was going to lampoon Williams, but they showed a re-run last weekend.
Just the same, I seriously doubt that they would, as they are the same Network.
Williams will be 'crying all the way to the bank' as my Mom used to say: he signed a $10 mil / year / 5 year contract in December.

Oh the irony of journalistic integrity.
Have they fired all the journos who unquestioningly repeated W's mantra of WMDs in Iraq yet?
Wlilliams vs Iraq is what deflated hand eggs are to the state of the nation.

OC - I do agree, but do you ignore this and give Williams a pass? Demonstrating that we will accept more and more BS from all of those in positions of power and influence.
It is a small "victory", but one with enough outcry from the public to garner a response.
We are much too passive of a society. It's refreshing when a few of us throw a stink ; )

6 month suspension with no pay. Which for him amounts to 5 million dollars. He became more of a celebrity than a news journalist.

the funny thing is, when i think of brian williams (which i didn't until now), i never thought 'oh, that's the guy that got shot at in the helicopter'. now it's 'oh, that's the guy that didn't get shot at in the helicopter'. i don't think that getting shot at really boosted his stature so why lie about it?
How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.

Seems a bit extreme, suspending Brian Williams for lying. After all, hasn't congress been doing it for years?

Huck - of course he shouldn't get a pass. Its just that the outcry over this is more than just a little bit amusing given the larger context. Same way that people care more about deflated balls than...well pretty much any topic that actually matters.

I don't think the people really cared about the deflated balls - the media just told us we cared.
All to keep us distracted from the big issues that we are truly concerned about.
