This is the first time since I think Monday that I have been able load the website. I have been getting simple "Server not found".

Got me thinking - I've known you (sadly just) guys a few years now. Going on two decades in fact. But I have none of your contact info and if this site goes away, I'll lose you all. (I see this site as being like a trusty old cell phone; it's working just fine but its getting older, the electronic world is changing and nobody services these things anymore.)

So, I'm putting it out there, My email is jeffries at spiretech dot com. Send me one so when this wonderful site up and leaves we can stay in touch. (And yes, I might have to learn some new stuff and cross boundaries I have never wanted too, but I;d I rather wait until I have to.

Thanks guys.

Yes there was an issue. I pinged Keith on Facebook to see if his friend who is owning this dinosaur of a site could restart the Diesel engine that no doubt is powering it. Not sure if that solved it or some random other factor.

Anyway there’s an alternate universe FB velonation page with many on it. But not quite the same as this page. As I mentioned before we could use an App like Slack to set up an more modern alternative to this page. It’s basically a self contained system independent of social media. Our club uses it for keeping organized. Free. Email is good for one on one contact but not much more. Heck I only ever got onto FB cause I got tired of emailing photos to the old folks back in NL.

Whew....thought we had finally lost the page. Glad to see it back.

had been e-mailing a bit with 6ix about it, but as Ben mentioned, I don't have any contact info for a lot of you guys. And I don't do FB.

Glad it is back online!

I must say my use of personal email has gone down to what is needed to keep household running, i.e. its become more of a business tool than anything else. Email for person to person contact is down to zero, except for one long-term friend in NL, 2x annually on our respective birthdays we harass each other on our old-timer looks. Kinda like how letter writing has gone the way of the dodo. I still remember writing long letters back in early 90s but that got supplanted by email.

Dale has sent me his email. (Thanks!) I have no interest in becoming an email junkie if this goes away. I'm just hoping I don't lose you to the ether. My search skills are probably not gong to find a Cosmic Kid or 6ix in the ether-world. When this goes, if I can stay in touch I will know what cosmic arena I have to join hang with you.

pastelmj@yahoo.com
I posted it once in the old VNews forum and got messages from Wayne on Long Island, weird Amanda Rose (or one of its other personas), and Jennifer. Lost touch with all of them.

Wondering: is Aluminum Frog/Amanda Rose/etc in a secure psychiatric inpatient facility now? That might explain radio silence. Rooming with Danboo, perhaps. Or are both (or maybe the same ubertroll) on other forums now, bored with us, dishing pathology to new victims?

AF stated early on that he would not be coming over to this forum....which, given his weird obsession with me, was pretty surprising.

Not upset in the slightest that neither he nor Danboo made the transition.

I've told this story before but I was reading (on-line) a newspaper from Seattle or Portland... can't remember which, but there was a letter-to-the-editor from AF. It was just as unhinged as the stuff he used to post on Tech Talk.

We sure had some nut jobs show up back then.

Normal is a matter of perspective.

From where I sit you’re all crazy. The fact that you insist on living on wrong side of 49th where civilization ends is conclusive evidence.

That’s why no one is getting my email. Besides no idea who is reading along here, methinks there’s a lot of snoopers.

Snark back atcha. The USA has laid a lot of eggs, but has done a lot of good. Maybe 45 is the emblem of the end of the line, especially in this internet age, but I'm hopeful and looking forward.

Going back to some of the older personalities, remember Everton FC? Wow, I'd hop on the forum in the morning to see if any good conversations had started and was commonly floored by some of his antics. Obviously a drunken night of being a keyboard warrior. Felt bad for him because he seemed very troubled at times.

The whole AF, Ambling Rose, Danboo, etc. stuff was kinda like trying to have a conversation with Jack Nicholson's character in the Shining after he'd completely lost his mind.

Insanity can be revealed in rantings as is the case with 45 and perhaps some of the former forumites here. Always thought that within Danboos rantings there were good underlying thoughts. One just had to apply the fine comb to find them.

Insanity is also and more abundantly revealed by doing the same thing over and over again and hoping for a different outcome. That point was solidly missed in the response to my snarky comment above. It’s what Collective insanity looks like from the outside looking in. Someone still has to find that power off button to reset things, like when I do when my PC starts acting up (or this web page). That much needed reset will not happen over next four years. At best the old PC may get a new cooling fan cause the old one wax so damn noisy.
