Have you tried Gran Jubileo Blanco Tequila? A friend brought me a bottle when she went to Mexico but it is in the US now too.

I've never tasted Kah but I love their bottles! How is it?

Haven't tried it yet jm. Usually if I'm drinking something straight it's Makers Mark or Tanqueray. Not much of a Tequila drinker. Except when I'm wasting away to you know where ville. For the purists, not bottled Margaritas. Homemade bar mix and fresh squeezed limes. Wasting away Margaritas.

When I was stationed at Ft. Know, KY I did some of the bourbon/whisky tours. Jack D and Jim B were OK, Wild Turkey was good but Makers Mark was awesome! They threw a party and free drink was flowing! I went on several other tours too but the names are not coming to me. I think that MM got purchased by one of the bigger companies so their "family" party might be more corporate now.

A funny thing is that several of the distilleries are in dry counties so they can't actually sell their products there.

My wife's father was from Stanley, KY near Owensboro. We are driving out there this Friday. We're thinking of stopping in Lexington for the night. We have some time to kill on Saturday, so maybe we'll see if we can get over there.

Did you make it to MM? Did they have a "sampling" party?

Just back from Kentucky today JM. Wife and I stopped in Lexington, Ky for the night. The following day we went to "The Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company" http://www.kentuckyale.com/

They make "Town Branch" Bourbon. We took the Brewery/Distillery tour. You could sample the Bourbon, but not the beer. Don't know what was up with that. But after 7/1/2013 you can. Bought some "Kentucky Ale" and some "Bourbon Barrel Ale" at the local liquor store. The Kentucky Ale is good. In my very humble opinion. The Bourbon Barrel Ale was "cut your left testicle off to drink it" good!

Farther up the Bourbon trail as we approached the exit for Makers Mark Distillery. The car developed an extremely hard pull to the right. I thought we had broken something in the steering. Amazingly as if by the hand of God himself. My wife's gaze corrected the steering issue. Saints be praised!!!

Actually we were running late to get to her cousins surprise 50th birthday party. But we are planning on going back soon.

High-end tequila is realy smooth and should be sipped straight to appreciate. It rivals good whiskey in mouth feel and complexity.
