I'll be in San Francisco for 5 days in December. Staying in the Nobb Hill area. Looking for places we should try to see while there. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Besides the gazillion other things to do, check out the Ferry building if you are into great food. Alcatraz night tour is good and gives you the best night view of the City around, tho Treasure Island is good as well. Angel Island is a great place to go for hiking and Bay views - no cars allowed, hiking and cycling trails. The old west coast immigration center is there with a museum (Ellis island of the West). A tour of the Anchor Steam brewery is fun.

It's a great city to walk - especially from the Nob Hill area. I still will take my healthy friends around the city by foot - never get tired of it, and always discover something new.
Lots of great restaurants. If you have particular foody desires, let me know and I can give you some suggestions.
Angel Island is a great getaway from the city if you just want to hop on a ferry and spend a half day walking around the island.
If you had a bike that would be a whole other thread of great riding out of the city across the GG Bridge to Marin and into the hills and along the coast.

My wife and I rented bikes last time we were there, you'll find rental places scattered all around the wharf area. The rental included a ferry boat ride back across the bay, so you can ride across the bridge into Marin County, visit the sites there, and return via the boat. It was fantastic.

Huck, since this is a non-cycling getaway we'll probably get quite a bit of walking in for sure. If youcan think of a good Thai restaurant, let me know. C2K_Rider, we will have to check out the Ferry building as well. Sounds like we'll have to visit Angel Island. How far of a drive up the coast is Napa?

One of my favorite cities to walk in for sure. Done several east to west transects, never gets old.

Thai: There are so many, probably every neighborhood has a good one.
This is the one we go to near Golden Gate park. Really good. if you go to the newly-built California Academy of Sciences, or de young Museum of Fine Art in Golden Gate park, this is just a short walk away on 9th ave. a classic hole in the wall that has great food.

Count on an hour and a half to Napa - to be safe.

There are a ton of restaurants everywhere. The Mission District is very popular with the tech crowd these days, so there are lots of exceptionally good restaurants in that area.
You might want to pick up a Clipper card when you hit town. You charge it up with money and then you can get on and off Muni and BART very easily....for when you're getting tired of walking. I especially like the various historic electric trolly cars (which are NOT the same thing as Cable Cars.)

Thanks to all who suggested this plethora of ideas for when we visit the Bay area in December. Looking forward to the trip.
