If you cannot read it I will copy and paste.
Simply, wow. A life well lived. "Ordinary people with extraordinary vision can redeem the soul of America by getting in what I call good trouble, necessary trouble."

Thanks for this link.
Just finished Doris Goodwin's latest, "Leadership in Turbulent Times". Like her other work, it's an easy and informative read. I did not realize just how much civil rights heavy lifting was done by LBJ in the 60s, and that this came from his heart, not political calculation. (Alas his legacy on Vietnam has eclipsed this good work.) The contrast of LBJ spending political capital and giving credit to others to make the country better vs. the current occupant doing the opposite at every level is profound and heartbreaking.

Re: LBJ and civil rights, the series by Robert Caro on LBJ is a fascinating read into that complex man.
I choked up during some of the memorial speeches but the image of his casket passing across the Edmunds Pettus Bridge was enough to reduce me tears.
If we had 535 people with his moral compass in congress and one more in the White House can you imagine what they would accomplish?
