Game 5, Conference Finals, Dallas. Game is stopped because there is rain on the court. First a leak by the benches (yes, leak; they're playing indoors) and now a second leak; mostly on the crowd. So it's a baseball style rain delay. In a hard Texas rain (tornado country; I cannot believe this is unheard of), the American Airlines Center has two leaks! And the announcers just said that the arena had 43 and 15 minute rain delays last winter. Good thing is apparently the arena crew is good at doing the repairs, but still ... (Owner Mark Cuban doesn't look pleased.) I'm rooting for Golden State and sadly, it's going to take more than a rain delay to help them here. They need the game called for rain. In baseball, 5 innings qualify to score it as a game. How many quarters does a basketball game have to go in bad weather? |
