I remember my dad always saying that the older you get the faster time seems to go by. It really seems like that is so true. The 4th of July seems like it was not too many days a go yet here we are nearly half way through August. More immediately, this past week just dissolved. Is there some type of time warp and there aren't 24 hours in a day now?!

My theory: time is relative. That is, we see time as a percentage of our time on earth. At 50, one year is 2% of our existence, but for a one year old, that year is 100% of his existence. For a 10 year old, it is still 10%; pretty high.

Now, for me at 60, that stretch since the 4th is 0.11% of my existence. It barely existed. (Sadly.)

What I find interesting is that the older I get, the faster I was.

Yes, I'm faster now in the '90s than I was in the '90s!

Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.
