Thanks for the pix. Where is Green Swamp? ( could be just about anywhere in Fla!) PS No you don't need 28s for those roads.

Go west from DisneyWorld hell; within an hour and half pedeling your outside cell phone range. Citrus fruit and angus beef roaming the countryside, the real Florida, or so they say.

yep. that's what it looks like. pretty nice isn't it? i used to live in kissimmee which is the back door to disney. i was never sure if that was a good advertisement for the town. lots of country folk (both good and bad) live away from the coast. lots of churches. there are some big sky type areas around there. the panhandle look pretty much the same except for some hills and nicer beaches and around tallahassee there are more hardwood trees. come back in july if you want the full summer experience. if the heat and humidity don't get you, the lightning will.

First real nice bike I bought was from a guy in Florida, a Kestrel 200EMS that I found in the Velonews classified. Came with Campy Record and a straight block 12-19 cassette which was the first thing to get swapped out. The Florida hills and the Ozark hills are not the same thing

the highest point in florida is britton hill, real close to the alabama state line. 345 feet. there's probably 10,000 feet of rollers before you get there from the coast.

that little rise to cross the 27 was pretty tough; then there's was the exhilirating downhill.

lots of subtle elevation differences between the dry and wet portions of the land; I think there was about 250ft total on the 65 mile ride :-)

I won't see the temperatures were having here until sometime July in Vancouver, BC. Perfect summer temps now.

Now that hurts. Seing this on top of hearing from a friend who is in Tucson right now until the 30th and it's forecast for 80 and sunny everyday and she's pedaling away. Here in VT, we got 3" of wet snow last night, it's supposed to spit snow and rain until tomorrow sometime. Then, 100% chance of wet snow Saturday, temps back to zero overnight Sunday night, maybe a large snow storm for next Wednesday. Sheesh. No relief n site and April is almost here.

Careful on those early season climbs OC! ;-)

Well on the upside, you don't feel a ride like that next day even though the wind was stiff and the pace brisk. A typical training ride on rolling hills I feel for several days.
