For those who don't know the name, Al Fritz was the guy who invented the Schwinn Sting-Ray. He was one of the true greats in the bike biz. RIP, Al. You gave millions of kids the gift of freedom.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

I grew up with Sting Rays, first was a two speed kick back, then a few Krates Including a 5 speed Orange Krate

My 4.5 year old will get a restored 20" Fair Lady when she is tall enough for it.

Al will still give kids freedom.

My brother (now departed) refurbished an old Sting Ray for my daughter. She learned how to ride a bike on that thing. It was handed down to my niece. My daughter is now 27 years old and pregnant with her first child. How fast they grow up.

A Sting Ray was the first thing I can remember thinking I WANT THAT. I put it in the same class as a Ford Mustang as far as an icon.

I suspect most of us of a certain age, who grew up in the US, grew up riding Stingrays. A truly wonderful design for a kids bike. Mine was a purple hand-me-down. I loved that thing...

Thanks, Mr. Fritz, for a lifelong love affair with two wheels.

grew up riding a Raleigh Chopper -- loved that thing. Stingrays were "the enemy" -- very worthy ones at that. Lots of fun tho. Fritz probably created the whole genre........
