It's probably just because they never get out of the saddle to pump on the pedals because that GIGANTIC feed-box behind the headtube would absolutely get in the way. 

The UCI banned beauties like the Pinarello Espada, Lotus 110 and Hotta among others.  And this is the crap we get left with?

Right up there with the DiamondBack Andean as one of the ugliest bikes I have ever seen.

Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

Tri geeks once again lead the way on new tech. They aren't encumbered by tradition the same way roadies are.

This geezer thinks modern road bikes are fugly, too, just a matter of time before the latest trigeek tech gets accepted by roadies.

I’m not watching any tri events to avoid scenes like this. Among other factors.

All this tech and they keep riding uphill at 8 mph in their aerobars.
