This deserves a Purlitzer.  Amazing journalism.  I'm probably only halfway through it (very long) but this guy has some seriously deep-seeded issues.  "Has a loose relationship with the truth."  Man o' man, have we heard that before.

That article took me forever to get through....but what a ride.

Some if it all was just so unbelievable...but people kept buying into it. Unreal.

Side note - that was the area where I grew up and I rode the roads in Falls Church and Great Falls often. First gig in the bike industry was there, managing a shop.

Catch me if you can…

The article started great but I found it deteriorated and just became too long.

The reincarnation as a gun shop owner and security expert was interesting.

This is the line that make me burst out laughing --> "Clark himself competed in four Cat 3 road races in total, finishing in the back half of the field on each occasion."

Steve Tilford never make it as big as this guys claims he did and Tilly was mopping up Cat 1 races at age 50.

Right? Look at the pics of the guy in his kit for the Italian team that supposedly recruited him for Roubaix...classic MAMIL. How the fook did anyone believe that guy was gonna be racing Roubaix?!?!?!?

Laughable.

Never knew I had such a stellar race record.  2nd, 5th, 7th and 8th in Vermont.  10 and 12 at the Mass. States.  Under John Howard's course record in Maine.  Bronze at the club's championships.  I knew I really needed to get one of those phone message recording devices.  I missed all those calls from the Continental recruiters.

10 years of pro racing.  15 of CEO and board level work.  Years of military, some in highly trained specialized work.  I need a chinstrap just to keep my helmet on.  This guy can wear a half dozen hats at time.

It's so amazing how he was able to get away with this in this "information" age. And still is!

Side street here:
Just observing that I've seen fat guys TT great on flat courses. Huge watts.

No doubt some sub pro tour roulers viewed as flat slobs by wafer thin pro cycling standards could be contenders in flattish races such as Paris-Roubaix.
