I picked up a set of Zipp 303s from a buddy. I forgot to check if it had an 11 speed free hub. Of course it didn't. I installed one with a new axel I borrowed from another guy who had a set of newer 404s. Everything fits just fine but the wheel is out of center by 1mm. It measures 6mm on one side to the frame and 4mm on the other side. If I do nothing and adjust the brake pads is there any issue with this ? Yes I need to pick up an axel and free hub but do I need to redish the wheel ?

You have an alternative way to convert this wheel to 11 speed. Yes redishing the wheel should be done if you change from a 10 speed to 11 speed shimano freehub.
You can change the freehub body to a campy compatible. I think Zipp has a Campy option. Use a campy 11 speed cassette and you are good to go. Completely compatible in 11 speed.

1 mm off CL? A challenge for close set brakes and wheel switches. And a mind bender once you know it's there. But you could ride around the planet a few times with that much asymmetry and never know it. The bike wouldn't care either.

Just to be sure...is it out of center between the chainstays or the seatstays? The reason I ask is that not all frames have symmetrical chainstays. Some are ovalized horizontally on the non-drive side and ovalized vertically on the drive side to add drive side stiffness.

LOL, Ben.

It's fine but also easy to correct.

A Campy cassette body may or may not require a re-dish. Most do.

Thanks guys. It was very easy to do. 1/4 turn to loosen all the spokes on one side, 1/4 turn to tighten on the other side. Took 5 min tops. Learned a new skill.

Conversion from 10 to 11 on shimano cassettes, redish is required and could not be done on lightweight or some reynolds wheels that use glued in spokes. As noted this condition is not a game changer but the wheel will be off centre a very small bit. If you never take a neutral wheel in a race it is hardly essential but Campy does not need to be redished. the free hubs on Campy are the same from 8 to 11 speed. Shimano is different between a 10 and an 11.
