WOWZA!! That's a big fat 'win' right there. Stunning. You basically have one of the most current bikes out there. Electronic shifting, hydraulic discs, carbon fiber frame, etc.

Think it's strange to not have one single metal cable on the entire bike?

Only hiccup is that you need a different bottle cage. Maybe a red Blackburn Camber carbon cage. That would be a nice touch.

What a beauty!

I do agree with 6ix about the bottle cage ; )

Other than that - Wow!

I love bike pjorn in the morning.

Very nice sled, Inferno!

Too bad discs will never take off in CX or road, though.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

Agree Six headed to Excel to get an Arundel cage before today's ride.

Thanks guys, It's awesome. I really got to enjoy riding dirt everywhere I could last year on my road bike. Never felt super sturdy, and I've been wanting a cross bike forever. The generous parents who's kids I teach in a year long ski program in Breck paid for about half of it. I suppose I might as well race a few cross races too, I've been one of the slowest out there in other disciplines of cycling...HA.

I am curious about the seat post. interesting approach to setback. I would have chosen the Arundel mandible cages as much for their look as their superior function.
About the only thing I am concerned with is the rotor size for road use. Those rotors are for CX and probably are completely fine in most conditions except extreme and very long descents on big hills. I think 180s for the heat management in those cases.
My wife gets the next new bike and I expect it will have hydro brakes but maybe electronic shifting but it will accommodate fenders.
That said I am sure the wife would be thrilled with this setup and skinnier tires.
Very nice.

It looks and sounds from Inferno's second post that it's predominantly a cross-bike so rotors should be fine, no?

Seweet!

Fixed it. On the seat post that set back is a bit to much for me (also a strange looking post) I'll carbon up the seatpost and the stem in a few months. The Rotors and the road. I came down Sunshine Canyon the other day, a consistent grade of 4-8% with some steeper section they fell good. Just like when your on pavement with your Mtb all the brake you need. I do need to adjust the reach and try to firm them up.

I did not mean to say CX disks are inappropriate for road use but only a caveat. Most CX rotors are sized for cx duty and lower speeds as well as shorter hills. I have read of CX bikes with super minimalist rotors having brake fade in big hills or mountains. Road use in these cases needs lots of surface area to manage the greater heat at the higher road speeds. DH bikes use 203 and 180mm rotors. Some articles I have read on road bike applications suggest that in worst case scenarios that 180mm should be the minimum size on road bikes. In my area many CX bikes are also winter road bikes and I have not heard of this being an issue here for the hills we have.
