Considering an experiment for the gravel road bike, a Salsa Fargo. Right now has 700c 37mm pasellas, which work fine. The experiment would be try 27.5 with 42mm tires for more responsive handling and plush ride. I would actually welcome the small drop in BB height. Yes I have too much time on my hands. But tinkering can be a lot of fun.

lsd, just saw this blog article today. What you are describing is definitely a "thing". Do you have those funky woodchipper bars on the Fargo?

I assume you have disk brakes? If yes it should work fine

No funky bars. Salsa cross bars, love them.
