Time to retire the Trek 1.5 (good news there is the kid has been eying it and I may lure him into serious cycling just yet) after putting in the hard winter miles over last years. Looked and tried a Brodie and Louis Garneau all with similar components and price but ultimately settled for this beauty on basis of superior stiffness and descending confidence. She weights in at 22.5lbs which is well over my Orbea so a good training steed but not a nimble uphill racer. Nothing better than a little bike pjorn in the morning!!

The Diverge is a seriously cool bike...few guys out of our shop ride them. Lots of versatility and a great frame.

Enjoy, OC!!

Well that was quick OC! Hopefully not too hard to put fenders on that. I'm guessing that's what the the bolt in the mid fork is for. Something about those bottle cages, are they oversized?

Is that your actual saddle angle? Are you the anti-Stronz?

the bottle cages are side-grab.

on saddle angle, the photo is a bit deceptive but it does have a slight tilt. Never noticed it when i took it for a spin riding with kid. But will probably need to make some adjustments on saddle (fore, aft) after I take it for first serious spin.

I am still deliberating on need for fenders.

could you squeeze a fender between the seat tube and rear tire? Looks kinda snug.

Definitely snug but I think it would just fit.

Like that matted black stealth look. Where did you score those side-grab cages?

Spud - at my LBS. They're handy for small frames. Not necessarily needed on this one but my kids have em.

Funny story on those side bottle cages...

When I bought the bike mechanic asked if I was left or right handed. "Left but I grad my bottle with right". Then I jinxed myself, "no that's left".

Get bike back after fitting. "You installed cages for right hand grab. Didn't I say left?". So we flip them.

First attempted sip on maiden voyage. d'OH! Right hand grab after all.

You and my wife! She twists the tie on the bread backwards, coils the garden hose backwards, etc., etc.!

LOL.
