"Hey, I got a great idea.....let's do a bunch of round tube bikes, but we'll do disc brakes on the XC bikes to make 'em 'different'."

Blah....

I finally have to ask...

What the hell does "dot" mean?

And why are you all posting that?

You can't break initial posts on a thread into paragraphs, so it can look lilke a jumbled mess. So posters have reverted to just using a "." or "dot" for a first post.

Then the seond post will contain the content of what they wanted to post, but in an easier to read format than what the forum software allows.

Huckleberry...don't fret. I'm "only" 36 and I didn't know about the dot thing.

Anyhow, the frames look pleasant and I'm sure the build quality is superb but they leave me wanting more. Their logo on the down-tube is next to impossible to read though. I guess that's OK for Pegoretti.

I'm not being negative, just not my taste. But that's why there are so many bikes out there. So many tastes!

Agree about the down-tube logo, plus I know this has been discussed at length, but those disc brakes just look wrong to me.

Probably not a happy place to work at the moment

Why? Considering the alternative I think they are thrilled with the direction the company is heading now rather than floundering as they were prior.

A job is a good thing, agreed

The devil you know vs. the devil you don't. They knew Ben was a crazy dreamer that was bad with $ money but being in limbo with a private equity group has to be daunting. Just look at Mad Fiber and Blue. Hope those resumes are warmed up

clarification please: is Saratoga the phoenix-from-the-ashes that was Serotta?

JA, from what I understand that is correct. Ben S is now a consultant with whatever Ben Townley is doing

Good looking frames. No desire to run discs on a cross bike. Their web page makes it look like their own brand of frames is a second thought, listed as the third thing they do under "what we do." Curiously, the fourth thing they list is making Serotta custom frames so it looks like your 2013 Serotta is, well, still a Serotta. Not sure why you would buy a Serotta made by Saratoga when you could just buy a Saratoga. It all seems really confusing for no real benefit to any of the brands involved.

Ok. You all are making me nuts with the "." thing. Here is what you do. Use the HTML code for a hard return. (/br), replace the appropriate "(" with a "<". Got it???

Well, the Divine Cycling Group trifecta is now complete. Saratoga Frameworks is shut down.

So let's recap:

Blue Competition: Went out of business until resurrected by the factory that got stuck with the inventory.
Mad Fiber: Dead. Bob Stapleton just bought all the intellectual property out of bankruptcy.
Serotta: Dead
Saratoga Frameworks: Dead.

Quite a legacy those jackasses @ DCG left behind.
