Quintana announcing he will go the Giro and Tour.  I like the guy's spirit.  (And I don't think it is entirely "I'll get the Giro, then it won;t look so bad when Froome does his thing:.)

Quintana is tough.  His biggest failures have come when it hasn't been hard enough.  Last year he didn't do enough racing before the Tour.  When the Vuelta rolled around, he had the racing miles and was ready.  I predict he will be the guy to watch before and in the Giro and that he will be strong in the Tour.  Can he beat Froome?  Don't know, but Froome does know that Quintana is now someone he has to watch like a Contador.

Love this guy's spirit!

Me too, love the plucky guy. I think he'd matured into a smarter tactician than previous.

Sounds like setting up a convenient excuse to me.....the Tour route this year is horrific for him. SO he gets to race the Giro first and when Froome tournces him in July, he gets to say "Well, my legs never recovered from the Giro".

Cynical, but that is how I see it....
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

I'm happy seeing a big name doing more than one grand tour...no matter the reason. :-)

If a course is not suited to you, you would be foolish to focus on it. He wouldn't need an excuse. Race the Giro for the win, race the Tour for sponsor exposure. It makes sense to me.

the 100th edition of the Giro is looking to be good, lotta big names in there, looking to be a battle, and, most likely better than the tour, I just hope Quintana has enough in the tank for le tour to hammer Froome
You make a good point CK!!

I like that he and Movistar have the gumption to attempt the double. If anyone could do it, it's him.
