Did you watch those last two stages?  Esp that last one?  Great bike racing!  Vollering, Rooijakkers (a new name to me) and Niewiadoma.  Racing to the limit on back to back epic climbs.  10 seconds separating the top three places on GC.

I have a soft spot for key helpers from other teams - that element that makes bike racing so different from just about any other sport.   Evita Muzic was the engine Niawiadoma needed over those late kilos on Alpe d'Huez.  She beat Niawiadoma to the line for 3rd and the podium but Niawiadoma getting the magic s.t. was enough to win the women's biggest race by 4 seconds.  That Niawiadoma did not (could not?) beat Muzic but still beat Vollering with no bonus seconds was IMO just sweet.

Hi Ben! By coincidence I checked this site for the first time in months, expected crickets - and found your smart post. The folks who proposed that raising women's cycling will be achieved not by demanding similar pay but rather more TV coverage are covered in glory right now. NBC even brought out their top Tour commentator with a woman side kick for their US coverage. Girls will watch this. In a generation or two the women's ranks will have much more depth and may be as compelling or at least near men's racing. This Tour, and for sure today were big steps.
