Ron, to doesn't take long for the waist elastics of shorts to stretch if you always wear them with suspenders. (Now I am saying this as one who has never had an issue with having much of a belly. Is this another reason to stay at a good cycling, climbing weight? Faster sit down potty stops?

Oh, I find that my plumbing is much fussier about needing clean and unobstructed runs at 60 years old than when I was young. Needing to do any kind of contortion almost always leads to post-drip, making un-clipping suspenders a real asset.

Quick, easy and clean body functions rule! Sacrificing to be a twenty year old again? Naw.

I agree the bib design is lacking, however I find the comfort of riding in them unrivaled by regular shorts. I have used all number of shorts from Hincapie, Exte-Ondo, Pearl Izumi and others, but bibs still win out for me based on comfort.

HAH!  Back on my college team, we would shame those who rode w/o bibs but took it a step farther.....you gotta hook the shorts UNDER the saddle when you pull 'em down and then sprint off en masse.

The unlucky victim (besides having his arse out in the air) couldn't stand up to chase and would be left far behind.

Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

CK I saw the opposite effect once. Scott took off too early for the final sprint in front of a pack of 50 or so at a local 16th Ave training race. He pulled his own shorts down and under his saddle and no one could catch him because we were all laughing so hard. Riders tried to come around us at the front and looked up and laughed too. He won.

LSD great summary for those of us who remember. BTW, I saw John Howard riding yesterday. He was wearing bib shorts.

Did the Greenwich Criterium a million years ago. I think it was Leonard "Harvey" Nitz who crashed, and mooned the town for the next hour.

the Endura rep stopped in the shop the other day, showed us a women's version with a drop hatch, it was kind of funny
on a side note, Endura MTR bibs are the best I have ever worn, very thin softshell, nice longer leg cut that stays put
