There are some spectacular bikes in there....and that Velotron trainer is a steal @ $250 (opening bid).

Kinda sad that some of them were likely ridden only once of a few times are the most...but a great collection nonetheless.

He was at Lance's LAF ride when I did it in 2002. Hilarious improvised monologue before the start. He could ride fast for a guy his age.
And he made a lot of people smile.

Looked like they are priced to sell...unfortunately, none my size. I suspect since he had so many, they were seldom ridden....

Soot, that raises the question of whether you ride the bikes or keep them pristine for what they are...they come with certificates of authenticity.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking at the Zipp beam bike and thinking "Hmmmm...".

Now CNN has picked up this story.

Hopefully a tad of goodness in terms of money for worthy causes and bikes going to loving homes will result.
RIP Robin Williams.

That is quite a collection. I was surprised to see how many had aero bars on them.

Prices have gone significantly higher over the last few days...which is great to see since it benefits two great charities.

I wonder how the Zipp beam bike would fare next to the new uber aero bikes in wind tunnel testing?

Pretty well, I think....there is anew company in Iowa call Dimond that basically jsut took that design and updated it to today's "standards". According to their testing, it ranks right up there with the Cervelo P5, largely viewed as one of the fastest bikes out there.

One thing about the Zipp Beam Bike is it taught you to pedal in circles.
