The Feed is donating 100% of the sales from the logo water bottles to support victims of the Louisville / Superior CO fires yesterday.

We all need water bottles, so this is a no brainer. And it is 100% of the sales, not the proceeds. I grabbed some gels while I was there to give The Feed some extra $$$

I hope he doesn’t mind me revealing this, but 6ix came within 1.5 miles of losing everything, but the winds shifted and they were spared.

CK, give us more clues on how to find The Feed. (Duck Duck offers way more hits than I want to sift through.)

Thanks for the link to The Feed. I'll grab some of those. I guess the VP of Operations for the EF team lost his home. His place was right behind the Target and Costco that you may have seen on videos.

We haven't been able to get close to the impacted areas but the whole town feels like it's waking up with a nasty hangover. Very quiet and somber, as you'd expect.

The winds combined with the fire were indescribable. We were given evacuation orders since the fire was spreading the length of a football field in a matter of seconds, and our house was right in the path. Grabbed a few bags of clothes, bikes, a dog and a cat before jumping in the cars. Absolute chaos. At least with a hurricane you have multiple days of notice to vacate.

It's going to be interesting the next time I head out to ride through my normal routes that went through all of those areas. Can't wrap my head around what I'd do if the house had burned, but I halfway expected that to be the case when we left. Definitely makes you quickly realize what is and isn't important in your life.

Wife, dog, cat, bikes.

Three of my wife's kids live in the area.... all are safe. One was close to having to evacuate.

Couple more cycling friends are safe. Amazing how explosive that fire was!

Good for The Feed, that's really stand up of them to do that.

Glad you are safe, 6ix…as well as your wife’s kids, Dale.

Sounds like the fire ripped right through the Morgul-Bismark route..

Excellent priorities 6ix... "Wife, dog, cat, bikes."

Unless of course you have kids ; )

It's scary sh!t. Been in the middle of a couple of those - primarily in Washington State. in 2014 I was building a house in the North Cascades, and the largest wildfire in Washington history (until the next year) ripped through our valley. Our house was saved by a mile long(two passes) aerial retardant drop only for the mere fact that our property was the last property between town and the gulley that the fire was racing through.

Glad you're safe!

Glad to hear everyone and their families are ok.

Unfortunately these kind of events are only going to be more commonplace putting many communities at risk. Depending on where one lives it’s a bit like rolling the dice every year. That certainly seems to be case for some BC communities, there are several that just in last couple of years have been evacuated multiple times. I unwittingly drove into one of these evacuations in 2016 not checking radio or news. This year we passed through devastated town of Lytton about a month after fire hit.

Here on coast we roll the dice differently. Seems pretty safe from most natural hazards but if and when the big one hits the devastation will be absolute. That could be anytime from the next hour to somewhere in next 500 years, the recurrence interval of the magnitude 8-9s that hit here. We’re overdue is all we know but odds are poorly understood.

I used to live in the Sagamore subdivision in Superior in 2003-2005, where my daughter spent the first 2 years of her life. The house and the entire subdivision burned down. I donated to https://www.commfound.org/wildfirefund.

my Feed package arrived today. S

Cool, glad you got it. Mine arrived the other day, too.

Their e-mails are definitely annoying. I unsubscribed almost as soon as the first one hit my inbox.
