I'm gonna bet a dollar that someone saw his knee pain meds, drew wrong conclusion and tipped off the law. I won't bet more than that though.

In the Comment section, someone pointed out Nairo has made a lot of enemies in Columbia pointing out the corruption apparently rife in the governing cycling body. Perhaps the French police got a tip that Nairo and his brother were bringing in cocaine. (I suspect Nairo had already made a few enemies with his support of women.)

Just in on a Dutch site...this has advanced to preliminary investigation of possible doping after several substances were found among which "a method that could be qualified as doping".
