My sense is that VeloNews is happy with their Facebook-related comments on articles feature, and that the forum was not meeting their needs. I like Zinn articles, for instance, and there are always lots of comments on what he writes.

@geosurf - sorry, no "Dr. Dre Beats or China Jerseys" ... I'll keep my eyes peeled for you...

@Entheo - thanks, I'll work something out for an FAQ - with respect to the "Rules of the Road", I'm thinking of starting a thread on that so we can discuss and come up with some simple guidelines together. I don't think it should be too complicated, but I'd appreciate feedback from those with insight here if you don't mind. You have all seen the problems on the boards in the past, and if we can set this up for success from the start I think it will be in all of our best interests.

Thanks,
Steve

I would have signed up here years ago if I'd known that the moderator had previously played guitar for the Sex Pistols!

Yeah, I commented on that on "Who's been back?". Pretty funny! They agree the spam is much bettercompany than we are.

It is pretty surreal over there.

It breaks my heart. I loved that place. At least most of the regulars have survived the move.

Wow. 7tdf SoL showed back up looking for Danboo. It is like they are running wild in an abandoned house or something.

It's worth popping in over there once a day just to stare at the train wreck. Man, what a freak show!

it's like mad max and the thunderdome over there; real post-apocalyptic stuff.

@TV - I agree on the demise. I still drift that way, then catch myself. I also must say, I still think

"Its too early to check the forum because it will be spam city"

so the damage done over the past few months has lingered... At least I know it will get better. Again , thanks, Steve.

Unfortunately this has been Velo's trajectory for a long time. Sorry to see the decay. Feels odd to suddenly move to a new site and establish the community here. And what of the regulars that were here first. I hope we all get along.
