Tuesday, April 07, 2009 Quick-Step's Hovelijnck wakes up from coma by VeloNation Press at 11:31 AM EST   comments Categories: Pro Cycling   After Sunday's performance in the Tour of Flanders, there was only one bit of news that could be better than a Flanders win for the Quick-Step team: Kurt Hovelijnck has been released from the Intensive Care Unit at Universitair Ziekenhuis of Gent (Gent Hospital). The Belgian rider had been in a coma for three weeks due to a head injury inflicted by a crash while training with Wouter Weylandt.
