According to his agent, Olivier Onderbeke, Kenny Dehaes has signed a one year contract with Belgian team Silence-Lotto.

The mid-season move came about when his former team Katusha added a mandatory stipulation to their contract requiring the cyclists to pay five times his salary to the team if he tested positive for doping.

Dehaes refused to sign the addendum, instead opting to allow his contract with the Russian team to dissolve. Geert Steegmans has also refused to sign the new contract, and the CPA has come out in support of the rider.

Dehaes' contract has an option for 2011.
