Pereiro on the fence

In an interview with Eurosport, 2006 Tour de France winner Oscar Pereiro said that he is contemplating ending his career at the end of the season.
The Spaniard looked like he might be set for a good season when placing 8th in the Circuit de la Sarthe back in April, but Pereiro has struggled to find his form all season.
His early exit in this year's Tour de France and subsequent lack of form for his home Tour seem to have taken their toll on the rider mentally.
The one thing for certain at this point is that if he decides to continue, his salary requirements mean he will no longer ride for his current team Caisse d'Epargne. If he should continue, he will likely ride for the Spanish Pro Continental team Xacobeo-Galicia.
During his career, Pereiro has won stages in the Tour de France, Tour of Romandie, and Tour of Switzerland. But the Spaniard is best known for taking over as the overall winner of the 2006 Tour de France after American Floyd Landis' title was taken away after a positive doping test.
