Kirsten Wild has decided not to contest the world time trial championships next week in Mendrisio, Switzerland. The time trial specialist was sick earlier this week and feels she hasn't recovered enough to put in a good performance in the race against the clock.
Coach for the Netherlands, Johan Lammerts, has opted not to replace Wild on the worlds team. This leaves national time trial champion Regina Bruins and European champion Ellen van Dijk with a chance for the rainbow jersey.
