Sunday, October 04, 2009 Compton and Albert begin World Cup with wins by VeloNation Press at 3:01 PM EST   comments Categories: Pro Cycling, Cyclocross, Race Reports and Results   The UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup opened today in Treviso, Italy with Katie Compton (Planet Bike) continuing her success across the pond, and World Champion Niels Albert (BKCP-Powerplus) showing off his rainbow stripes in dominant form. Compton cruised in for victory 28 seconds ahead of Daphny Van Den Brand with Vision 1 Racing's Christel Ferrier-Bruneau a further 6 seconds behind. Albert blew away the competition finishing with 42 seconds in hand over Zdenek Stybar (Telenet-Fidea) with Klaas Vantornout (Sunweb Pro Job) coming across the line in third 52 seconds off the World Champion's pace.
