Earlier today VeloNation reported that Dane Michael Rasmussen was to sign for CDC-Cavaliere, and would thus be unlikely to race a Grand Tour next season.
Rasmussen has come out this evening and said that he, as well as the the team he was to supposedly ride for, were completely surprised by the news, and that the story reported by the Italian media is completely false.
"It is a mystery to me how the story is leaked. Now I certainly hope that the false news does not ruin anything in relation to my current contract negotiations," he explained.
He claims to have an idea of who was behind the story, but declined to say more at this time.
