Team Rabobank is going to appeal the decision made against them in July by the Dutch courts.

In the decision the Dutch cycling team was ordered to pay Rasmussen damages of 700,000 euros. Rabobank disagrees with the court decision claiming the amount is too high.

Rasmussen has already voiced that he will appeal the verdict since he considers the amount of compensation to be too low compared to the 5.4 million euros he had asked for in the suit.

The Dane was ejected from the 2007 Tour de France by his Rabobank team while wearing the yellow jersey. Information was made public that the rider had lied about his whereabouts amid revelations he missed several drugs tests.

Team director Theo de Rooij stepped down from his position amidst the controversy.
