Filippo Simeoni of the Flaminia-Bossini team has won the Italian road race title in Bergamo.
Most famous for his off-the-bike court battle with Lance Armstrong, the 36 year old rider made the decisive break with just four kilometres left in the 254km race and sealed it with a win.
Simeoni told AFP afterwards, "I have dreamed of this moment for nine years."
