Italian team Cinelli-OPD has signed former Classics specialist Franck Vandenbroucke for 2009.
The Belgian rider had his biggest season in 1999 when he won the Liege-Bastogne-Liege and Het Volk, but has had difficulty keeping his personal problems in check which has left a trail of terminated contracts.
Vandenbroucke had been without a team since he was dropped by Mitsubishi-Jartazi when his name appeared in a drug related investigation.
