I was blown away to hear the news on this one! I guess Sastre is the only one with a contract (Geox) at this point ... now who goes where?

Cervelo Spidertech? http://velonews.competitor.com/2010/08/news/bauer-pleased-with-progression-of-spidertech-planet-energy-squad_134570 “In all honesty, I think Cervélo is missing some Canadianism in their focus,” Bauer said. “And I think a team like ours could bring that in a partnership. I don’t know if that’s a reality or not. But our goals are clear, we want to bring up a Canadian team, with a Canadian philosophically, offering opportunities to top Canadian riders and partners, while balancing that with whatever international talent and structure is required to be competitive.”

It would be great for a Canadian team be brought up a level out of this, but there's already something in the works with Garmin it would seem.

I've seen the Garmin rumours but so far they're just rumours. I figured I'd muddy the waters some more as I remembered reading this not long ago. It would be interesting if Cervelo folded as a team and threw their sponsorship behind Bauer's team as a UCI continental squad.

We all like the rumors! The God of Thunder has confirmed things along those lines though:

The team Schleck rumor is out there as well...lets start some new ones, how about the Australian teams - there are two trying for a ProTour license!

I'm pretty upset about this. This team, and especially Sastre, won my heart during the 2009 Giro and I've been a big, big supporter of theirs ever since. I guess whichever team lands Hushovd and Haussler will get my support in 2011...but I'm pretty gloomy about this

It's looking like Garmin-Transitions is probably going to become Garmin-Cervélo for 2011. That pisses me off. If financial insecurity was the reason for the TestTeam folding, but Cervélo is still going to be a sponsor, why the fricking frack couldn't the TestTeam have become Cervélo-Logitech or something (a Swiss company, I don't know). Did they even try to find another sponsor? Dammit. I am so upset over this

They also had one of the best kits out there as well...maybe they'll make argyle look a bit meaner with some black and skulls next year?

Apparently they did try to find another sponsor. That softens the blow a tiny bit. The riders I like the best from the team (but really, I liked all of them!) seem to be splitting up. Tondo to Movistar. Sastre to Geox. A big chunk to Garmin, but Daniel Lloyd and Roger Hammond never really captured my heart and imagination like some of the others.
