CK, couldn't he refer to his podiatry passport to show his socks have always been the wrong height?

I told one of my brothers about the sock height regulation. "And here I thought golf had archaic and stupid rules."

And the rules have come a long way. Used to be white only socks, and black only shorts.

I raced in the white socks, black shorts and leather helmet days. The socks and shorts were so we would look "proper". Those helmets? So we could have a "proper" open casket ceremony.

(Black shorts are still a real plus for those of us who ride without support. Perfect for wiping off tire and chain dirt.)
