I been trying to learn to play on a real POS Strat knock-off. After doing some research it seems that even a $1500 guitar isn't held in very high esteem. I don't have an arm and leg to spend. Many people say go to a pawn shop, but I don't know enough to keep from getting ripped off.

What do you guys think of these?

Never heard of them, what's your budget? For the price of one of those it looks like you're just buying the body, so you could find a nice used strat for what it would cost to build one up.

Actually I was looking at the basic 59 Les Paul for $399 you get the body and neck. I'd like to keep it under $1000.

You can easily find a strat or les paul on Hello Music for that. I got a 60s re-issue gold top LP for like $730 plus shipping. I'd suggest looking there - some deals are great, some not so great.

Thanks, Steve! I'll have to check them out when I get home from work.
