Vuelta a España
Today's thirteenth stage of the Vuelta a España will be held without it's stage 10 winner Simon Gerrans (Cervelo TestTeam). The Australian, who will be moving to Team Sky next season, was placed 65th on general classification.
Rinaldo Nocentini (AG2R), wearer of the yellow jersey in the Tour de France this year, has also decided not to take the start.
In total seven riders decided to leave the race ahead of Saturday's finish atop the 16.9 kilometre Sierra Nevada climb. Sébastien Chavanel (Française des Jeux), Franck Bouyer (Bbox-Bouygues), Dominique Rollin (Cervelo TestTeam), Eros Capecchi (Fuji) and Davide Viganò (Fuji) complete the list of non-starters.
