Andy Schleck won the online vote for the Luxemburger of the year on RTL. He beat actor Thierry van Werveke, who died less than a year ago and Luxembourg's premier Jean-Claude Juncker.

These are the days when cyclists of the year awards are given out, but in a small country like Luxembourg, two cycling brothers can make the headlines for the country's person of the year award. Andy's brother Fränk finished fourth in the voting.

Andy Schleck received 22 percent of the votes. Van Werveke came in at 13 percent, while Juncker had 11 percent of the votes.

Juncker won the vote last year with 16 percent. Schleck's second place in the Tour de France undoubtedly has raised his profile in his home country even more.
