Marzio Bruseghin has also been implicated in the judicial investigation "via col doping", which is currently underway in Padua, Italy. Bruseghin now rides for Caisse d'Epargne, but the cause of the investigation stems from his time with the Lampre team, as La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Several other Lampre or former Lampre riders are under suspicion as well, with the total amount of riders under investigation at thirty-five. Twenty-four names have been made public so far, although it is unclear yet if charges will be filed.

Two riders have received punishment despite the investigation still going on. Alessandro Ballan and Mauro Santambrogio have been sidelined by their BMC team. Ballan will thus miss Paris-Roubaix. The situation is difficult for both sides, as BMC is simply following the ProTour regulations and the riders cannot defend themselves until a concrete accusation is made.

The list of individuals reported to be involved:
Giuseppe Saronni, team manager of Lampre
Maurizio Piovani, directeur sportif of Lampre
Fabrizio Bontempi, directeur sportif of Lampre
Damiano Cunego, Lampre
Alessandro Ballan, BMC, ex-Lampre
Mirco Lorenzetto, Lampre
