Speaking with the French newspaper, Aujourd'hui, Lance Armstrong confirmed today that this Tour de France will not only be his last, but it will also be his final race on European soil.

"My children require more attention. They put pressure on me. They ask me when I will stop. My son Luke is now eleven. He's someone that I want to spend more time with, so we can share more things together."

The Tour de France as his final Tour and final European race seems to go in line with the gradual retirement that will occur over the course of 2011. At the moment, a start at the Tour Down Under in January looks likely, as well as a foray into triathlon.

Before any of that, however, will be Armstrong's final go at the Tour de France and a chance at an eighth Tour de France victory.
