Former world champion has not decided on which races just yet, but vows that they will be 'real crosses'

For the 2010/2011 cyclocross season, full-time road racer and 2008 World Cyclocross Champion Lars Boom is planning to make a return of sorts to his roots.

The Dutch star last raced a full cross season over two years ago, and has no plans to return full-time in 2010/2011, but will take part in six races according to Sporza.

The 24 year old multi-time Dutch National Champion says, "I want to try for a slightly better winter of racing. If I do more races, I'll get a better rhythm. I want a challenge and also to get some more training."

The winner of the Prologue at this year's Paris-Nice as well as the recent 1.1 ranked GP Jef Scherens has not made the decision as to which races he'll take part in though. For someone looking to pick only six races, you can be sure that they'll be races that both fit Boom's characteristics and appeal to him as a connoisseur of the discipline.

"As for which races, I'll have to take a second look. I'll pick some that are good for me and beautiful. Real crosses."

While the six races will be a great chance to see one of the world's best crossers return, the World Championships, however, will not be a part of those six.
