Stopped in at an Oakley store this week while I was in Boston.  Oakley has reintroduced Factory Pilots, Blades and Frogskins all in their original designs / splendor!!  Now part of the "Heritage Collection."

For grins and giggles, I tried on the Factory Pilots.....holy schitt, those things were HUGE!!! Did we all really think these things were cool?  I did almost buy a pair, though....and still may!!  (note - no foam pad on top.  Maybe they include them in the box. )

Oh yeah. When did they first come out? 1985? I remember seeing bus drivers who also raced wearing them to drive. Interestingly, one our secretaries has some Gucci sunglasses that are easily as large.

I saw this as well. Can't believe they're asking $200.

I like Oakley shades, I hate Oakley customer service. Just went around and around with them for weeks to get them to warranty some lenses that delaminated. They were total jerks about it, told them I have numerous pairs of Oakleys and none have had this issue, they claimed I was using/treating these differently. SRAM just upgraded me when a Force shifter broke, no questions about warranty.

I don't dig these. BUT, thos Rudy Project Performance shades are awesome! Mottet! Rudy pretty much just needs to re-release every set of cycling shades they've ever made.

My b-day is next week......just sent Mrs. CK the link. Figured "What the hell"....

I actually think they will be great for tri's. The huge frame will still let me see from the aero position and the straight back arms will slide inside my TT lid with no extra pressure.

The guy in the cool shades and hip black and red bike is me...1991. I've got a climbing closeup somewhere...looks just as good as Lucho.

Funny enough, five of us in that pic reconneced over last couple months...there is talk of a reunion sometime.
