Shimano is recalling 760K pairs of DA & Ultegra cranks due to failures.....the actual reported failure rate is still astonishingly small (less than 1%), but the number of reports is getting close to 5K incidents.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

An unhappy memory: had a French crank arm fracture on a 6 year old lightly used and never crashed Peugeot PXN-10 while pedaling up a steep pass about 30-35 years ago. Lucky that I didn’t crash or get a nasty laceration. I one pedaled and coasted 8 miles back to a LBS, who fortunately had a suitable and affordable replacement in their used parts bin. Then back up and over the climb (my car was on the other side), strictly seated this time.

PS this was just me, not a World Tour powerhouse.

In the 90's I broke not one but 2 sets (one of them a replacement) of "Caramba" cranks. Worst POS I've ever put on a bike.
