It is ugly as sin and as with everything those numbers are occurring in the wild and wonderful world of "controlled testing".
But we don't have to buy one of these fashion sins. There is another way, right CK?
(edit) The problem I have with this and the Giro Attack is that while these are (possibly) great at 20mph+ how about when I am climbing for 30 minutes in July/August at 10-13mph? I want a helmet that is good at everything as opposed to great at one thing. |

Keith, you need that EPO stuff so you can climb at speeds where those helmets work! (Leveling the playing field.)

| Keith. The Air Attack has not been particularly hot for me yet including a 12 km climb on a low 20's C day. Supposed to be a stinker this weekend so I'll know more. Remember though, you don't sweat due to any helmet but due to hard riding. Before I wore a helmet I wore a cap or head band and I still had sweat dripping off my head. Of course I had a bit of a pelt back then. Not so much anymore. |

I live in DC. 95+ and high humidity is a regular thing around here. Hard riding up a 30 min climb in the Shenandoah mtns with that helmet on is going to suck and you can't convince me of otherwise because I have had to ditch helmets with more vents than that on climbs in the summer out this way.
If this helmet was too hot, the Giro is going to be as well. |

| OK did the test. 32°C 88F°. No more hot really than any other helmet for me. Did a 12 km climb up to the Callaghan XC area. Now I am good in the heat so others might not be so un bothered. Just one persons view.
Oh and that's wearing a heat gear under shirt, light jersey and those cooling arm warmers because I am not allowed to expose my skin to sun for a while yet. |

So, during a race a rider can get a new wheel, a new bike......what about a new helmet? Could a rider switch out a better ventilated lid for a super duper-it'll-cure-your-asthma-too aero helmet for the few seconds of advantage it might give him?
Of course, maybe they don't want that asthma cured, as it would remove a TUE.

The new aerol road lid from Louis Garneau looks really good. Much more like a normal road lid, but more rounded at the back. EuropeCar has been sporting them this week. |

| For the pros, having helmets for specific terrain, I get it...hey they are not paying for them, more power to them. For the rest of us...I don't have $500 to spend on helmets. |
