Wow - so no one checks this out much. Ok - this Sunday, 21, July 2013 for those in the OC area, meet at Whiting Ranch entrance (Ralph's entrance side) at 8 AM, through Whiting to 4-corners then over to The Luge and back to Whiting for Cactus trail back out. Ping me to confirm.

I'll be riding in Whistler. Likely one day on It's Business Time and maybe the monster climb up to Kashmir. I think that would take an hour and a half of pure up followed by an exciting decent that includes a rope assist section.

OC- you've been hitting the trails pretty hard this week. A little down time and recovery beer would be good.

Oldfart - oh to be up at Whistler for some serious trail riding. A great all-around MTB venue!

Oldfart -- would you elaborate on the rope assist section? Sounds memorable.

Did end up riding yesterday, slow, slow the entire way up on 34x25 but figured it be better than no riding. Heat and poor air quality not helping. And after a week of sitting at a desk my left side is tied in its usual knot. No more mountain magic, ughh.

I have only seen pictures of a steep slot on the trail. A rope is there to hang on to to get down it. It ain't that bad but one handed with a bike is challenging. There was a trail like that up on Cypress too. It was called the Ed Sullivan Memorial because the builder looked like Ed. It dropped into a steep sided creek which was short but un rideable. Like the section on Kashmir.
