IIRC (and my memory may be faulty), the Parc des Princes cycling site was megafamous back in the day. I googled it today and only got links to soccer stadiums, zero references to a cycling track. Fellow geezers, researchers, and Euros, please fill me in.

You know the Parc has a wiki page which auto translates lol.

The Tour finished on velodrome till 1967. It was demolished that year. Sounds like construction of ring road around Paris let to its demise as a cycling venue.

The NYC Transportation Alternatives Century ride (since discontinued) included Kissena Park Velodrome on its route. It was quite the experience riding in the velodrome! Better than a revolving door.

I never knew that the Parc des Princes had been a cycling venue, to me growing up near there it's always been a soccer stadium (PSG's home turf to this day). Same with Marseille's "Stade Vélodrome", the cycling track that had initially been part of the stadium complex was removed in the 1980's. Stade Velodrome is Marseille's equivalent of arch-enemy Paris' Parc des Princes, 90% soccer, 10% other sports and "activities" (shows, etc.).
