Jack Bauer
Tom Danielson
Rohan Dennis
Ryder Hesjedal
Dan Martin
Alex Rasmussen
Andrew Talansky
Chrsitian VDV
Dave Zabriskie.

Hmmm, I had Talansky, Hesjedal and Martin as locks but no way thought VDV and Zabriske would be on the team. Dennis and Bauer are also surprises. According to Vaughters selection criteria they must have been making good power numbers.

You have to figure they are gunning for the team TT win and going with the get a GC guy in the top 10 approach. It has worked for them in the past to keep the sponsors happy.

yawn, 3 of those guys should not be allowed to participate, IMHO. They should be banished to weeknight parking lot crits in Siberia

give the slots to someone that is up and coming versus 3 who took a short cut. Vaughters is full of selective indignation at this point

JS, I don't see DZ on the G-S roster:
Andrew Talansky
Christian Vande Velde
Dan Martin
David Millar
Jack Bauer
Ramunas Navardauskas
Rohan Dennis
Ryder Hesjedal
Tom Danielson

jrt, while I agree with you 100%, they are playing by the existing rules, plus all of the teams have dopers and past dopers on the roster (busted or not).

Well that was odd. I got the roster from the steephill website. Looks like they jumped the gun a bit.

CK, I know all too well - just tired of the Vaughters being just a little too cute about it for all these years

jmdirt: I know the rules are the rules and rosters are littered with "reformed" cheats, I just don't like the rules. I also think it is a waste of resources in a sport where resources are limited. CVV does not deserve a victory lap before he heads off to retirement, give that spot to a rising talent. If they put CVV on the roster they might as well hire Levi, I see no difference

In the end, I will blame the UCI for being nutless on the subject of doping

jrt,

I think the difference between CVV and TD vs. LL is: I honestly think the first two tried to get out of the cycle they were in, where LL just kept it up. You can throw in some younger guys and they may or may not finish, with the two tainted vets you have one guy that can take serious pulls day after day and another that can hang on the climbs and both will be strong for the TTT. Neither will be in contention or serious threats for stage wins but they do raise the level of the team.

Bob,

garmin has always been about PR fluff and Vaughters dressing like an English fop, not anti-doping

I feel that CVV and TD are deserving of the unemployment line, not so much for past transgressions but more for their parsing of the truth. I do not share your enthusiasm for what they supposedly bring to a Tour team
