Looks like you'll have a front row seat at Grappa again Donna.

Any special reporting this time?

Oh man! I just got an invitation from a winery in Barolo to watch the ITT from their entrance, since the race goes through their street. I wonder if I could convince my wife that a last minute trip to Italy was in roder.

Mamma mia, Crush! I can see the top of Monte Grappa from my rear window. The Giro "village" will be in Crespano, just a couple of km from my town. I am beyond excited! The stage finishing in Vittorio Veneto, and the one starting in Belluno, are not far from me either.

My only dilemma is figuring out where on M. Grappa I want to be, how to get there (car? motorcycle? car+MTB? car +walk? motorcycle+walk?) and how to get down at the end of the stage. Total pandemonium will reign. They expect 400,000 people at the stage. There are lots of little side roads so I just have to come up with a route.

Yes, I am intending to write an article like last time.

I am still in NJ and arrive in Italy the 21st. That weekendI have signed up for this: http://www.montegrappabikeday.it/en
It’s totally ridiculous because after the long winter, I am not in shape, let alone climbing shape. But how could I not be there?

Skinny, I am impressed! What VPN provider did you go with? Hide My Ass? How hard was it to set it up, and did you need/get help? I gotta do it before the Giro starts this weekend, as I am still in the US for a bit longer.

Awesome Donna. Looks like the TT will go up Grappa the way I came down; challenging bit of climbing and yeah it will be hell getting all the spectators down. MTB down the trails would seem like way to go but you'll see tons with same idea clogging things up

Meanwhile I get to look at pics of the Italian cousins backcountry skiinng down some peak or pass every other day still so I bet the high passes must still have lots of snow too. But gorgeous blue skies.

donnamobile: my italian is a little rusty. can you tell from the rai sport website if there is a rebroadcast of the race? universal sports had that feature so i could watch the tour in the evening when i had time.

Someone on ST reports that beIN Sports is actually carrying the Giro, despite earlier indications it would not.

i can recommend the vpn setup. rai sport has the live stream and the ability to watch at your leisure all in italian. the quality isn't great but it's good enough.
