So all of a sudden, I'm getting this hot spot in my right foot, after a 50 plus mile ride. It seems to be at the ball of the foot. Nothing on the bike has changed, as far as saddle height etc...Anyone ever experience this? What, if any, is the cure?

or, alternatively....did you just get new shoes?

When was the last time you replaced your cleats? Sometimes worn cleats lead to a slightly unstable platform that can cause fatigue after XX miles.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

Cleats could be a factor. I'll replace them, and see the results. Hopefully that is the problem.

Thanks

Cleats maybe but perhaps the insole has depressed so much over time that there is no longer any comfort from them? Or one of the cleat screws is starting to work itself through the sole. Saw that happen with an old pair of Sidi Genius 3's. Definitely pull out the insole and have a look.

My thought is perhaps the sole is breaking down and flexing more. Perhaps a crack starting.

My cleats did need to be replaced, and I have added new insole inserts as well. Hopefully that will do the trick. El Tour is next week, so I hope there won't be any issues. Thanks for the input.
