Sorry to report that Jan Ullrich is going back to rehab in Switzerland after a relapse with drug/alcohol addiction. Apparently he was celebrating his birthday in Cuba with friends when he relapsed. Hope he does well..

Yeah, that was tough to hear. Recovery can be a long road with a lot of ups and downs.

Ullrich spoke today and said he had blood poisoning and thrombosis but that it wasn’t a relapse. Not sure what to make of that, the original story came from one of Germanys gossip magazines where accuracy is certainly a secondary journalism objective but on other hand denial is a key symptom of addiction. Also sounds like he who shall not be named came over to Mexico to check on him. Again.
