Dale Stetina, dad of Peter and brother of Shimano USA head Wayne, will be leaving the rehap unit he has been in since September after his crash and traumatic brain injury early that month.  He will be going to therapy in Nebraska.

We still don't know how long his recovery will be or the permanent losses.  He appears to be about where I was a couple of months after I walked out of Boston's MGH years ago.  The good news is that he is a tough SOB.  I"m guessing he will take this like it is the ultimate stage race, wake up each day, look at that day's stage and ride it.  The tough part?  It's been a few decades, but the nights of recalling my old life and the awareness I would never be able to do that again and the deep despondency that ensued will always be memories.
